Valentine’s Day is approaching and I thought to share with you a free tutorial for a heart-shaped macrame wall hanging that I made last year.

Over the years this pattern has been used by many beyond Valentine’s Day.

I have seen macrame heart walls hanging in nurseries, living rooms, cosy corners and as a gift to a loved one.

The heart shape can have so many meanings for different people and the beauty of this simple-to-make macrame wall hanging is that anyone can make it, even a beginner!

It’s very easy to make, I promise.

I have used 100% recycled cotton t-shirt yarn from Bobbiny in dusty pink. You can experiment with different colours and strings.

To make this macrame piece, final size approximately 20x60cm (excluding the wooden stick) you will need:

14 x 2 meters of yarn

1 wooden dowel/stick 30 cm long

You can follow the full tutorial here.

NOTE TO MAKE THE WALL HANGING: start your first knot approximately 6-8 cm below your wooden dowel.

I hope to see your pieces on Instagram and Facebook, don’t forget to tag me! I’ll re-share on my IG here stories of all your beautiful macrame heart wall-hanging creations.
