Creativity is a wonderful journey, but even the most passionate creatives like me, a seasoned macrame artist and creativity mentor, encounter moments of feeling stuck, uninspired, or blocked.
My extensive experience in awakening creativity through macrame, gained from many years of mastering this mindful art and teaching it to countless women across the globe, attests to the fact that creative roadblocks are a universal part of the process.
I know firsthand that it’s during these challenging times that a few words of wisdom can work wonders.

Self-doubt can be a creativity killer and Sylvia Plath’s words are a reminder for us all to silence our inner critic. Trust in your abilities and ideas.
3. “If you’re alive, you’re a creative person.” – Elizabeth Gilbert
Don’t be fooled by the idea that creativity is a rare or exclusive talent. Creativity is an inherent quality present in every individual simply by being alive. In other words, Elizabeth Gilbert emphasizes that creativity is a fundamental part of the human experience, accessible to all, and not limited to a select few. Must love her!

This is the perfect quote for those of you starting and a reminder to always stay curious even if you are a seasoned artist. Emerson’s wisdom reminds us that nobody starts as a master. Embrace your beginner’s mind, and don’t fear making mistakes.

It’s always about the process never the goal in your pursuit of creativity or artistry. Bob Ross’s gentle reminder is a soothing balm for those with perfectionism tendencies out there. Your ‘mistakes’ can lead to unexpected and beautiful outcomes.

Creativity doesn’t know your age! C.S. Lewis’s words inspire us to keep dreaming and setting new creative goals, regardless of age or experience.
